About Holly
Hi, I am Holly Walter!
From an early age, I have been drawn to the outdoors and the natural environment through a variety of facets. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest afforded me the ability to spend most of my childhood outdoors, whether that be riding dirtbikes, hiking, backpacking, or simply exploring the nearby forest, I could be found outside in all manners of weather conditions. This love affair with nature led me to pursue a career path in environmental science, with an emphasis on ecology and conservation from Western Washington University.
The start of my photographic journey cannot be pinpointed because as long as I can remember, I have had a camera of some sort in hand. It wasn’t until 2014 that I made the decision to invest in my first ever DSLR, a Nikon D3200 with the kit 18-55mm lens. While it was not anything fancy, it unlocked the potential to capture the beauty of the world around me and gave me the ability to share the amazing adventures that I am able to go on.
When I am not out taking photos, I am at home raising my two children with my spouse, taking them on adventures, teaching and showing them the beauty and magnificence of the place in which we call home.
Now located on Florida’s Space Coast, a new passion of mine has been unlocked; spaceflight photography. Witnessing in person, nonetheless photographing, a rocket launch was never on my radar when in the Pacific Northwest. But after having watched the launch of Falcon Heavy on the morning of November 1st, I was immediately and irrevocably caught in the hype that is photographing all things spaceflight.
